Abstract

Admiral Ernesto Durán González was born in San Gil, Santander, on October 13, 1962. He graduated as Lieutenant of Lieutenant from the “Almirante Padilla” Naval Cadet School in 1984. He is a Physical Oceanographer and has a Master's degree in National Security and Defense from the School. Superior of War “General Rafael Reyes Prieto”. He commanded scientific research units, the coast guard and the ARC Training Ship “Gloria”. He was Director of the Barranquilla Naval Non-Commissioned Officer School and Commander of the Pacific Naval Force. Representative of Colombia before the International Maritime Organization in England and Maritime Director General. He took over as Commander of the Navy in May 2017 until December 2018.
