Este artículo se enfoca en los retos teóricos que surgen de la relación entre conflicto y ambiente, resultado ya sea de la escasez de los recursos naturales o la degradación ambiental en general. Este tema ha emergido como factor importante para acelerar y activar tensiones dentro y entre las naciones, aunque éstas ocurran principalmente a nivel sub-estatal.
